Can you proofread this please?

"I came to America for the English and to be more independent," said Jane Doe, a foreign exchange student from England. Jane came to Smallcity from London, England, a city of more than 1.5 million people. Coming to Smallcity after growing up in a city about 50 times it's size in population is a big transition and that's not the only difference between London and Smallcity. At Jane's school in England, the students are required to learn ten subjects a year (History, Geography, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Portuguese, English, Art, and PE) compared to our usual six and instead of having a different teacher for each cl, she has the same teacher for every subject. Paula does have a few things in common with other SCHS students such as her hobbies which include reading, watching movies, and listening to music. Like other students at Smallcity High, Jane hopes to have successful career. After high school, she plans to attend the University of BigCity and become a doctor.
