Why is my chicken broth jelly-like?

I'm boiling a whole chicken for homemade chicken soup. I cleaned it out and have it in the crock pot. The broth, though, has a thick consistency that's kind of jelly like. It reminds me more of the consistency of egg drop soup rather than chicken broth. I called up my mom and asked her and she said she's never had that happen. Do I need to add more water? Or did I do something wrong?
